Valuation metrics, in plain English β
Price in BTC / ETH
The coin's USD price divided by BTC's (or ETH's) USD price. If SOL/BTC goes up, SOL beat Bitcoin over that time, even if both fell in dollars. This is the cleanest way to see whether a coin is worth holding over just holding BTC or ETH.
Market cap (MC)
Price Γ circulating supply. It's what the coins already trading are worth today.
Fully diluted valuation (FDV)
Price Γ max supply (or total supply when there's no max). It's what the network would be worth at today's price if every token that will ever exist were already out.
Circulating supply
Tokens that are unlocked and actually tradable right now.
Total supply
Tokens that exist on-chain today (minted), minus any burned. It includes locked team, investor, and treasury tokens that can't be sold yet.
Max supply
The hard cap: the most tokens that can ever exist (BTC: 21M). Some coins have no cap (ETH, SOL), so this is blank (β).
Float (Circ / Total, Circ / Max)
The share of supply that's already circulating. Low float (say under 30%) means a lot of tokens are still locked and will unlock over time, which adds steady selling pressure. High float (above 80%) means most of the dilution has already happened.
FDV / MC (overhang)
How much bigger the fully diluted value is than the current market cap. 1.0Γ means no future dilution. 5Γ means only about 20% of tokens are out, so the price has to absorb 4Γ more supply to stay flat. Higher means more overhang.
24h volume and Volume / MC
Dollar value traded in the last 24 hours, and that volume as a share of market cap. Higher means more liquid and more actively traded. Very low (under 1%) means thin and easy to move. Very high can mean heavy speculation or wash trading.
Rank and Dominance
Rank is the coin's position by market cap. Dominance is its market cap as a share of the whole crypto market.
ATH and % from ATH
The all-time high price in USD, and how far today's price sits below it.
Token unlocks
Token unlock (vesting)
Most tokens launch with a big share locked up for the team, investors and treasury. Those tokens are released over time on a schedule. Once unlocked they can be sold, so unlocks add new supply to the market.
Cliff vs linear
A cliff releases a big chunk on one date (e.g. "investors get 25% on the 1-year anniversary"). Linear vesting or emissions drip out a little every day or block. Cliffs tend to move prices more because a lot of supply arrives at once and everyone knows the date.
Next unlock (date, % of circ, $ value)
The next cliff that's at least 0.1% of the unlocked supply, sized against the coins already circulating (CoinGecko) and valued at today's price. A rough guide: under 1% of circulating is usually noise, 2β5% is meaningful, and over 5% is a big supply shock. Compare the $ value with daily trading volume too (shown on hover and in the unlock panel). If an unlock is worth more than a day's volume, the market may struggle to absorb it if recipients sell.
30d % and 12m %
Everything scheduled to unlock in the next 30 days or 12 months (cliffs and linear vesting together), as % of circulating supply. The 12m figure is effectively the coin's yearly dilution from vesting. Price has to rise that much just for each holder's share of the market cap to stay the same.
Locked % and Unlocked %
How much of the max supply is still locked vs already released per the schedule. Lots still locked means a long road of future selling pressure; mostly unlocked means dilution is largely done. An asterisk (*) means part of the supply has no published schedule yet (TBD).
Who's unlocking (category)
Team and investors often hold tokens bought far below today's price, so their unlocks carry the most sell risk. Ecosystem, staking and treasury unlocks are often released slowly or kept by the project. Click a coin's ticker (or its next-unlock date) to see the full schedule by category.
How news is scored
Impact score (0β100)
A rough estimate of how much a story could move prices, judged on five things:
relevance (does it directly involve a coin you track, or the whole market?),
catalyst type (hacks, ETF flows, big unlocks, listings, regulation and macro shocks tend to move prices; opinion and analysis rarely do),
confirmation (a primary source such as an official announcement, filing or on-chain data scores higher than rumors; unconfirmed items are tagged),
size (the dollar amount compared with the coin's market cap and daily volume), and
market reaction (whether price, volume or flows are already responding).
70+ is shown prominently and lights up the dot next to the coin in the table; lower scores are under "More".
Direction
Bullish or bearish is the likely first-order price effect for the coins tagged; neutral means mixed or unclear. It's a judgment call, not a prediction. Always read the source.
Supply figures come from CoinGecko and can differ from CoinMarketCap or project self-reports. Treat locked and unlock schedules as approximate.
